Northwest ride on Saturday, May 7, 2005

Matt and I planned to ride a short 100-150 mile route up 149 and over to 3090 starting from King's Cafe at 8am. Doug posted up and said he'd meet us there and Leon also showed up. We had breakfast, worked out a route and pace, and were off. Matt had to bail early due to other obligations but the three of us continued for about another 200 miles. This was the best ride/roads I'd been on so far and I appreciate Leon taking the lead and guiding us to some great spots.

We wound up in Brenham for lunch at the Cattleman's Cafe. Decent burger but nothing out of the ordinary.

I forgot to turn on the GPS until halfway through the ride, so this only covers the final 150 miles of the day. We rode some fantastic roads this day with some great twisties and some huge, smooth, high-speed sweepers. I hope I can find them again.

Gearing up prior to mounting up. ATGATT - All the gear all the time. That's Matt with his back to the camera, Doug to his right, and Leon's all set to go.

If you're slow in the corners you might need to speed up on the straights to catch up with the more proficient riders!
